Shojiko Lake is one of Fujigoko Lakes(Five lakes around Mount Fuji) and the smallest lake among them. In the autumn, maple and roman changes color as Shojiko Lake is bordered.

More than 10000 years ago, Saiko lake and Shojinko lake and Motosuko lake was one big lake. The lake was called senoumi(umi means sea).
By eruption of Jogan that happened for 864 years, Senoumi was divided into Saiko lake and Shojinko lake.

Shojiko Lake is registered as World Heritage as periferal assets of “Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration”.
